ROBERT BURNS DAY CELEBRATIONS
We held a whole school Assembly to celebrate the birthday of Robert Burns, Scotland’s National Poet.
Everyone dressed in tartan for the occasion, and every class took a turn to entertain by singing, dancing and playing music.
What a great morning we had!
In the afternoon, Primaries 6 and 7 pupils held a very impressive Burns Supper.
Also in the afternoon, Primary 1/2 pupils held their very own Burns Supper.
Everyone enjoyed a Scottish menu, including haggis and neeps, oatcakes and cheese, shortbread, and Irn Bru.
The children gave a very impressive “Address to the Haggis”, songs were sung, poems were recited and there was fine music played on the bagpipes, clarsach and accordion.
At the end of the afternoon everyone joined in a rousing rendition of “Auld Lang Syne”.
An excellent afternoon of entertainment was enjoyed by everyone!
